DIY - Mui Mui Swallow Tights

Wednesday, May 12, 2010
You can sometimes tell how successful a designer collection has been by the number of DIY's that pop up in its honour. A good example is the Balmain Summer 2009 collection, which helped inspire a million different studded DIYs - bags, blazers, shorts, jeans etc. I am pretty sure that after the release of this collection shares in studs and studding tools went through the roof (as well as bandaids for sore, sometimes bloody, fingers). Looking around the web, you can see that the recent latest Mui Mui campaign has inspired a few interesting DIY's. The below tights from Cocorosa, who is getting a bit of a reputation for her amazing tights diys, are a la Mui Mui but add a little something different. Furtherdown there are pictures of Fashion Zen's Mui Mui inspired skirt. Both DIY's use printed pictures and iron on transfer paper. The swallows may date quickly, but the technique is an interesting one that could be used for a range of various DIYs.
