DIY Folded Hem Leather Shorts
Friday, January 21, 2011 at 7:48 PM
Found this tutorial on Fashion Nicotine for making leather shorts out of pants, I have made quite a few pairs in my time but I really like how she has folded the hem inside and then over so the right side of the leather shows on the outside. I have a tan suede pair of shorts that are going to get this treatment this weekend. Securing the hems with a few stitches at the sides will make sure they don't fall down.

DIY Runway - Topshop Unique Destroyed Shorts
Monday, September 20, 2010 at 1:45 AM
Shini took this pic from the Topshop Unique show - and I am in love with the destroyed pattern on these pink cut off shorts. I didn't notice them in the Style.com image as I couldn't see the back of the outfit. Very cool. I love how they have left the pockets on as they are. To create this effect, cut a grid of squares out of the denim, and then wash repeadedly so that the edges of all the squares fray.

Ps. Found this coverage of LFW Day1 on the Next blog (guest blogger Shini and Jill from Street Style London) and stumbled upon a pic of me. Day 1 was such a blur!

DIY Denim Autumn Layering
Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 3:45 AM
Am finding it very difficult to get dressed with this trans-seasonal weather. Too warm for coats and capes, too cool for bare arms and getting sick of wearing leather jackets allll the time. Layering is key - and cute Alexander Wang Inspired DIY layering is where its at. Cut the arms off a denim jacket, layer underneath with hoodies or long sleeved tops. Perfect!

DIY Cropped Tops

Next time you get the scissors out to do some t-shirt cropping - choose a circular cut like this, and then either leave the back hanging down or crop that in a similar way!

DIY Cut Off Trench
Friday, August 20, 2010 at 6:28 AM
The cut off trench coat is perfect for for the whole awkward summer/autumn which jacket to wear thing. I particularly love the really really short bolero style cut off. You can easily make one of your own by cutting off a thrifted trench coat and hemming.
