Spent ages yesterday rummaging in the Sham Shui Po district of Mongkok, an area filled with about 10 streets dedicated to DIY and sewing supplies. Centred around Yu Chau and Tai Nan streets there are whole areas for studs, chains, belt buckles, ribbon, fabrics, buttons and just about everything else you can imagine. These streets are interlaced with tiny alleyways that have every bit and bob you could ever need. You can imagine that I am in DIY heaven. I had to hold back from buying everything I saw, and only bought 2m of heavy bronze chain, at the equivalent of 25p per meter! I am looking forward to letting my imagination run wild with projects - so easy to do when fantastic supplies are so cheap.
