Found a gorgeous pair of Guess vintage tan suede pants at my local thrift market for $60HK - about £5. They were really cute but when I tried them on they were a little bit too early 90s (friends circa season 1) for me to wear them much. Decided they would make a very cute pair of shorts. So did my usual thing and cut them off. To hem them I actually turned the hem in, ironed flat and then glued the hem down. I had noticed previously that hems on leather trousers and shorts are often glued. Was so easy and worked really well. So next time you make some leather shorts out of trousers, get some superglue and glue the hems down instead of rolling or folding.
The weather is supposed to be a smashing 25 degrees celsius this weekend (4 day weekend for Chinese NY!) and planning on getting out on the boat, these shorts will come in handy.

Are we friends on twitter? I love to ramble about DIY inspiration and upload pics of DIYs I see on the street. If you don't have a twitter account (like I didn't for agessss), think about getting one - its actually pretty fun and only a tiny bit lame haha.

DIY Suede Shorts

Love the heavy look of the shorts - an easy way to do this would be to make a pair of shorts out of pants (suede pants like these from a charity shop if you can find them otherwise heavy linen works well). Chop them off at the knee, and then roll them up to create the hem. Secure the hem by sewing a stitch at both seams instead of hemming them all the way around.

Zara over the knee boots

Even though it is getting into Spring, it hasn't really started to feel like it yet. I guess that's the reason I have been obsessing over last seasons Zara over the knee/thigh high boots. A bit late of me I know. I've been scouring the internet like a mad woman trying to find some to buy. Gorgeous suede leather and very tight fitting with a low stilleto heel, very delicate looking.
Not loving the super high platform ones that are around - like the topshop ones - think they are a bit serious and not for everyday wear. Also not a fan of ones that aren't really well fitted around the thigh, a bit pretty woman for me. If I can find the Zara ones I am sure I will wear them - even in summer (a depressing thought!) Natalie from Canned Fashion wears them perfectly.
