More thrifted goodness...

Monday, March 7, 2011
One of the outfits I wore on the weekend, gotta love this full circle mini skirt I scored from a thrift shop last week.
Outfit: Thrifted full circle skirt, yellow notebook for listmaking (it gets a bit mental sometimes!), ebay cat eye sunglasses, Zara wedge boots, the most amazing vanilla perfume I wear every day from Yves Rocher in Paris, Country Road Singlet, favourite thrifted envelope clutch.

DIY Acne Admire Wedges

Thursday, October 7, 2010
Have been 'admiring' these Acne wedges for ages (haw haw), and have found a sneaky copy by Senso. In this case its not a DIY but more of a DIC (Do It Cheaper). Unfortunately the Senso ones are still not cheap enough for me (damn you travel bug making me save my money). Going to have to get aquainted with an old pair of wedges, some leather and wrapping shoe techniques... Update: one of my
readers has linked me to this ebay item - cheap Acne style wedges. Whether you agree or disagree with copied styles, you've gotta admit that these are pretty bang on (as are the A Wang Anouck Beatle copies). It amazes me how quickly manufacturers are able to copy designs!

DIY Christine Centenera's Sheer Train

Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Completely fell for this sheer train on Christine Centenera! A. This piece (a skirt or a jacket?) that hangs like a half sheer maxi is amazing and I love that we still get to see her legs. It would be a very easy DIY too! Buy some sheer black fabric, cut to desired width and length (just touching the ground when in heels is perfect), hem in you choose, and then tuck into the waistband of a black bodycon skirt. Wear a jacket over the top of create the illusion of a jacket.

In terms of where to get your fabric - I often buy gorgeous sheer fabric like this from opshops (you may need to rummage in the fabrics bin), and I have recently been going to one in North London that specialises in second hand indian saris and salwar kameez. They have whole room dedicated to indian shawls and scarfs, of every colour and mix of colours under the sun! Perfect for all my DIY projects. Sometimes you have to look in the strangest places for the best finds.

DIY Alternate Shoe Laces

Thursday, September 9, 2010
This is a pretty damn easy DIY - no talent required! But very simple and very effective. Alternate all different coloured laces on your wedge boots.

DIY Ruby Side Bow Tank Top

Monday, August 9, 2010
New collection from New Zealand brand Ruby is lovely, think this white tank top (third outfit) with the bow at the side would be easy to DIY. Cut a white tank top all the way down both sides, tie a knot/bow at the bottom. Wear with gorgeous coloured lace triangle bra.

DIY Jeffery Campbell Tick Shoes

Thursday, July 15, 2010
Every time I have seen the Jeffery Campbell Tick shoes I have thought they would be such an easy DIY. Using thumbtacks as studs on a cheap pair of wedges has occurred to me several times but has always looked like a massive job. Miss Vinyl Ahoy has done just that in her tutorial here. She uses 1000 thumbtacks!!! I have a pair of Asos black multi buckle wedges that I think I am going to do this to...

Want Need

Wednesday, June 2, 2010
As soon as you say your not going to buy anything.....

Love the shoulder bag, perfect for festivals! The tan wedges are gorgeous even though my bf disagrees with wedges in any shape or form (boys know nothing), and totally remind me of the Chloe ones - is it bad to love ripped off designer looks? One can but only dream of the real thing when on a budget... Lace up body is sexy (as are all the asos models!) and would be perfect for glastonbury. Topshop floral body is another take on the three topshop cupped bodies I own already (nautical, studded and leopard print) which are a staple in my wardrobe. Varsity jacket from Asos is gorgeous but not in stores yet - probably a good thing.
