DIY Leather Hourglass Insert Dress

So I can imagine that you've seen Poppy Delevingne looking gorgeous in this dress at LFW quite a few times now. Every one of the dozen times I have seen it I have thought to myself 'how can I DIY that'? I've been dreaming of all the different options, and have brought it down to two - painted tan sections on a bodycon grey dress, or cut out tan leather glued on. The hourglass shape of the leather insert is soooo flattering. You could paint/overlay this shape on a bodycon dress in any colour and it would be fantastic.
