DIY Zipper Clutch

Sunday, March 20, 2011
Life has been so hectic recently, and although I bought all the stuff to make my zipper clutch, I haven't had a chance to sit down and make it. Sob! Was very happy to see that the lovely Andy of Style Scrapbook has put up a tutorial here, and it really is so easy. Head over and check it out, and while you're there why not have a look at the AMAZING camera bag she has designed in collaboration with Kipling.  I really really want one.

DIY Pencil Case Clutch / Wallet

Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Ok so the good old pencil case of all shapes and sizes is continuing to make a come back (check out my other post here). Did you ever have those huge oversized tartan ones when you were at school for putting all your pencils and scientific calculators in? Maybe it was just in Australia? Who needs hand bags when you have office supplies? Hand paint yours for a custom look.

DIY Zip Shoulder Sweat Shirt

Thursday, October 14, 2010
Ahhhhh Vanessa's back! So very happy. This pic sums up everything I love about her photography, beautiful shots of flirty fun real women. And doesn't the top in the photo scream DIY? Attach some zips to a grey marl sweatshirt, unzip to show some sexy shoulder.

DIY Zip Off Coat

This is the coolest coat ever! Able to be a long winter coat or zipped off to create a boxy blazer. I saw one exactly like this in Cos yesterday and it was love at first sight (which quickly turned to hate when I saw the price tag). I have seen mountains of gorgeous coats in Charity Shops recently, never for more than a tenner. To DIY this, buy a thrifted coat in a nice wool, decide where you want to be able to zip the coat in half (thinking about the appropriate length for the little half coat), cut off, and a attach zip by sewing both long raw edges to the edge of a heavy duty zip. Voila!

DIY Zipped Flare Jeans

Wednesday, October 13, 2010
Can't decide whether to go with the flare or the straight leg? (call me cynical but everyone knows the fashion industry changes it up every couple of seasons to promote sales of the new trend). Here's your answer, buy the flare (or use a pair thats been sitting at the bottom of your wardrobe) and attach some zips like so. Wear them as flared and zip down to skinny leg according to your mood.

This slightly reminds me of when I was much younger and I took all my jeans in at the leg when the switch from bootleg to skinny happened...Why buy when you can DIY?
